A press holding the new book together

Sewn Notebook (Stage 2)

After nearly three months in the press, I’ve returned to the sewn notebook, and it’s time to sew the sections together.

I used kettle stitches with waxed thread. In retrospect, thinner thread would have been preferable, but the instructions in the bookbinding book were clear and straightforward throughout. I can see I need more practice to achieve tighter tension in my sewing, but it’s coming along.

After completion, the sewn sections went back into the press overnight ready for the next stage.
