After thoroughly enjoying the process of making a pamphlet from the Book Binding book, I’ve now moved on to chapter two, which focuses on creating a section-sewn notebook.
To begin, I took my A3 sheets and carefully cut them down to A4 size before folding them into sections. Precision is key here to ensure the pages align neatly. Next, I created a hole-punching template to ensure consistency across all sections, then used it to punch the necessary sewing holes along the fold.
With the holes prepared, the next step will be sewing the sections together, but for now, the text block is resting in my press until tomorrow. This will help set the folds and create a firmer, more structured shape before stitching begins.
